Getting Better all the Time
Ten minute miles, five repetitions of eight minutes each, hitting the treadmill at the office. Stretched my IT band between every run. And it felt good. There were a few times during the run that my right ITB started making its presence known, but I found that if I concentrated on running more to the inside of my foot that it went away. I need to talk to someone at AustinFIT or RunTex on Saturday to find out if I’m overcorrecting where I shouldn’t, or if I had a gait problem that was maybe causing this thing to tweak out in the first place. Maybe my weekday shoes are too old?
On the heartrate front, my machine’s HRM was defective (naturally). My rate was still up at 160+ after the run, but it dropped to under 140 in less than a minute so I think its fine. It may have something to do with allergies, or the heat of that particular room. Who knows? I’ll still mention it to the doc next week, but I’m not really worried about it.
