Good massage
Whew! That was nice - but I’m feeling it now. Kimberly warned me that as she starts going deeper, I may feel a little sore - and after today’s treatment, I have to say that I agree with her.
Today, she started out by focussing on my upper back - I had a couple of very hard knots down deep that I didn’t even know about, but sure felt when she got there. My glutes are getting progressively less sensitive as these go on, which is a good sign that they’re responding well to the therapy. She spent quite a lot of time working my right ITB, really getting down deep into the muscle itself just outside my right hip. When she moved over to the left leg, she had a bit of a surprise as I had a “wad,” as she put it, of knots right in the middle of my left hamstring. She took care of a lot of it, but I will have to be extra dilligent with my stretching and heat/cool treatments there to eliminate it by the 15th.
These massages are really helping. I have another one scheduled for next Thursday, and a 90 minute treatment for the Wednesday after Motorola. Hopefully, between those, taking it easy, and doing my stretching, I’ll be in decent shape come the marathon.
