Neighborhood Loop
This time, I remembered not to take Bear with me. I took my wife instead, which worked much better! She rode and I ran for the 4.25 long loop around our neighborhood. I left my watch up at the office, so I don’t know my exact pace, but I’m pretty sure it was around 9:00. That was better than the last time I did the loop, but I only went around once today, not twice. I am stronger, though - I blasted up the hills but didn’t need to walk afterwards, which is a distinct improvement. The weather was warm - in the 80s - but not too humid. I need to get used to running in the heat anyway, since this is Texas…
Its hard to remember sometimes that I really have only been running - at all - for a little under nine months now. I’ve never had the dubious pleasure of trying to train in 100 degree weather. Combine that with the fact that even after twenty years, my body is still not properly adapted to the heat (I’m a Brit by birth), and you have the ingredients for an interesting summer. As long as I can get the miles in without getting heatstroke, I should be fine.
