Fitness Eval
Well, I was at the gym from 6-7 this morning, but didn’t really do much. I had my body fat measured, etc but forgot to get a copy. My weight was 169, and my fat came in at 16.5% on the Tanita scale. Mary took me around the gym, showed me some good core exercises, tried to sell me personal training (using the “Its usually [150% of the normal price] but we have a special at [list price] right now…” technique). I remembered that I still actually have one session with Rick at the downtown Gold’s though, so I think I will call him up and set something up to go over imbalance testing and some corrective exercises.
Anyway, after that I had time for a quick treadmill run - did about two miles. I started out at a 10:00 pace for half a mile, did some stretching, ran up to an 8:30 pace for a mile, then kicked it and did the last half mile at a 6:00 pace - with one break to retie my shoelace. After 1:30 of the 6:00 pace I was struggling to keep my breathing at 3-in/3-out, and by the end I was working to keep it 2/2, but that’s how I’m going to get my cardio back.
