My two mile run on Thursday was done at my previous 5K pace and felt great, even on a treadmill (and I really dislike running on a treadmill, especially in a hot room). The five-miler on Saturday was the longest I’d gone since my injury.
Oh, and get this. I’d come to distance running from the Galloway school, and had always added some walk breaks into my workouts. I’m not doing that any more. I actually think that the five miles I did yesterday may have been the longest continuous run I’ve ever done. Ain’t that a hoot? It felt pretty nice, too.
I missed my “race pace” but will pick it up tomorrow morning. My overall mileage was less than my goal, but that will get back on track pretty soon. My gym attendance was just lousy - I’m having a harder time getting motivated to go in and lift then I thought I would. Weird.
