Whoops.
Well, I spent the weekend with family in Dallas. Sometimes, your real life interferes with your workout life - which is the way that it should be. I did no running, no exercise of any kind, and ate — not too much, but still a lot of food. The best laid plans of mice and men, and all that rot.
Tomorrow, I make up my long run from the weekend. I’ll do my race-pace run on Tuesday instead of my speedwork. Or possibly with a few fartleks thrown in for good measure.

food and family - much better than exercise.

I wouldn’t say “better” necessarily. Family is more important in the short term (not at the expense of taking care of yourself in general, but skipping a workout isn’t that big a deal). And food - food’s just not that important, beyond the basics.
When I was up with my mother, I did notice one interesting thing. She’d made some pancakes, and there were really more than we needed. I was offered more than I wanted several times, and felt no issues with just saying that I didn’t really want any more, thank you. That was good. It did bother me just a little bit that there was an undertone of “don’t waste food” going along though… not a huge deal, just something that stood out.

Probably a good sign when you can not run and not let it drive you crazy. I have a friend (not Aaron) who admits his first marriage ended because he placed priority for running over everything else in his life!
