30 minutes elliptical
So I needed a work break - despite my best efforts to sleep a lot before this race, tonight is going to last well into the wee hours of the morning unless things start going a lot better very quickly. So I headed to the gym. When I got there, I decided that it would be a lot easier to do an easy workout on the elliptical than the treadmill, so I did 30 minutes on the cross-training program, resistance 8 (at 12 calories/minute). Whatever that means. My heart rate ranged from 130-145 over the workout, which was about right.
I then did 3 sets of 10 shoulder raises (80 lbs), but couldn’t justify taking too much time away from work, so I came back. Oh - and I’ve cut my scheduled run tomorrow down to seven miles instead of ten, thanks to some of the advice I received. That puts me at 26 for this week, which should make Sunday’s race go pretty well - if I can get over the forecast 97% humidity.

97%-ouch!! You need a good -40 degree C cold snap to bring that down. Here in Edmonton, it is dryer than a popcorn fart since out last snow and -5 C weather !! Good luck on your race, use some of that water up in the air before you reach for your bottle!
