90 Minute Elliptical
Does that sound boring? Well, it wasn’t scintillating I can tell you that much. It was made worse because I did it at the Gold’s on 290, which doesn’t have music playing in its treadmill/elliptical room. The good news was that it was simple - just set the machine for 135bpm and go. The bad news is that every now and then by HR would drop all the way to, oh, 128, at which point it would panic and crank up the resistance so far that I could barely move it - which moved my HR even lower, etc. I’ll figure it out though.
I’m really looking forward to my run tomorrow now. Although - I will say that my quads got more of a workout today than they normally do, which has to be a good thing with the next three upcoming races being as hilly as they are. And hey, I burned 1300 calories which can’t be all bad.

Hi Richard,
I don’t really know how hard I do the elliptical. We just got a new workout room and I’ve seriously only ridden the thing 3 times. I’ll read the screen next time… Today I set in on manual at a level that had some resistance but not so much that I couldn’t keep a faster pace. I was breathing about the same way I would be breathing on an easy run, which was my goal. I’ll keep you posted… Meghan
