4th of July
Today was an optional workout, which is just as well; I slept in, got out there late, did about three miles in the mid eighties, said, “Screw it,” and went home to do yardwork. Not too impressive. Later on I went to the pool for the first time in forever and did about ten laps - far from consecutively. It amazes me that I can run fifteen miles without really worrying about it but can’t swim a couple hundred meters. After that we went out to Lake Travis for more fun in the water, and to watch the fireworks. Unfortunately I ended up with some decent sunburn. I can’t get to sleep, my shoulders itch, and its circuit tomorrow. I’ve made the decision that I need rest more than a strength workout, so I’m resetting the alarm and I’ll get back to the program on Wednesday for 4-5 miles easy. Until then, I hope you had an entertaining holiday without being quite as silly as I was when it comes to baking.
