Workout
Today I hit the gym and started things out with my 30 minutes of cardio; this time, following Alex’s recent history I did the elliptical machine on level 6 (fairly light) cross training 1 (hill profile), cranking out just over 6,000 steps - that’s more than 200/minute. It would have been even higher, but I got a phone call in the middle and dropped to around 170 for about half the workout.
After that, I did a little of everything: leg extensions, calf raises, squats, and hamstring curls for my lower body, alternated with chest press, pulldowns, and something I’m not recalling for my upper. On each I used moderate (not light, not heavy) weight and did two sets of 20, exploding out and doing a 4 second release; each time the last few were hard. I did a couple of sets of captains chair leg lifts for my abs, but only at the end so they were fairly half-hearted.
After all that I had dinner with my lovely wife at Whole Foods, which is always fun. Is it still healthy if you finish a meal off with Carrot Cake, even if it is organic? Anyway, tomorrow morning we have a speed ladder to climb; sounds like another potentially long workout so I’ll be parking over at AHS for a speedy getaway after its over.
