2000M Intervals
This was not one of my best performances. We met up at the normal time and headed over to the Zilker soccer fields for a repeat of the same practice that I enjoyed so much the last time we did it, just after running Dublin.

The first lap was fine; the second one actually felt a little too fast for the day (we were planning on doing five). Lap three was about right; I was passed by a couple of people I’ve usually been ahead of during speedwork but they were just flying today. Lap four, now - lap four was a problem. I wasn’t feeling particularly great, but was putting my feet down one in front of the other; about halfway through though I started to get nauseous. And I mean, seriously wondering if I was going to lose my lunch (well, at least my Gatorade) nauseous. I slowed down, and hang on, but that 9:12 finish was the best I could do.
Coach said that I probably drank too much. That’s entirely possible, I was downing ~6 ounces of fluid during each of the two minute rest periods. I’ll watch that in the future. Maybe with all the long runs lately I’ve been getting too concerned about dehydration?
