North End of the Trail
Steve had to start working away earlier today, so I was on my own for this one. I decided to head out from my hotel and pick up the trail at its Northern end (or close to it), then go South past where I had started running yesterday, turn around, and come back. The night before my car had blown both its headlights out, and I’d parked it at my Dad’s place which just happened to be within a quarter mile of the trail - I figured I’d just stop short and drive it back to the hotel. This had me running with my full car keys in my hand the whole time, but that turned out to not be a particularly big deal.
The temperature was in the mid eighties for the run, and it sapped my motivation pretty well. I had originally planned to do seven miles, just like a standard recovery run, but turned around about a mile before I technically should have done and finished out just under five:
| Time | 10:10 | 9:36 | 10:05 | 10:36 | 9:19 | (10:35 pace) |
|---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
| HR | 136 | 143 | 143 | 143 | 148 |
Again, this was supposed to be a recovery run, so I just ran how I felt. The important thing was getting some easy mileage in, which I accomplished. My only goal for the rest of the week is hooking up with the Gazelle class tomorrow afternoon for the four mile tempo run.
