Easy morning
Just the guys today: Mike, Thon and I met up at what’s become our usual 5:45 meeting spot, Barton Springs. Its amazing how crowded it it out there so far before dawn. This time we just did a bit under six miles, running to MoPac, then clockwise around the Congress Ave loop. Added a few (alright, four) chin-ups at mile zero which isn’t a lot, but hey, its four more than I could do six weeks ago. Talked about the upcoming Zilker relays (which have a much harder course than I was guessing, apparently) and the fact that somebody had apparently choked the chicken in front of AHS. Er, I mean, the rooster failed to crow to salute our passing. The cooler weather was a real blessing (70 degrees, 70% humidity) and we all had a bit of a spring in our step today.
Tomorrow’s forecast for the race is 94 degrees but only 26% humidity, with 46% cloud cover. Not great conditions, but a damn sight better than we’ve been having lately, so I’m not complaining one bit.

You almost had me with the chicken choking thing since one of our female Gazelles actually did run upon a man doing just that near where the chicken lives!
