Potential Marathon Course
The Austin Marathon, long known for being a fast course (and often criticized for being nothing more than a fast course) is changing drastically this time around. While its historically been a downhill point-to-point, its now a loop with some pretty juicy hills in the first half. This means that going hard and fast at Dallas is more likely for me. I’ll still run Austin, but I probably won’t try to PR there.
In keeping with tradition, I played around with GMap a little; here’s my guess as to the new route. Probably wrong, but should be pretty close, and it fits all of the information given on the marathon website. It shows up as 26.4 miles, but I was pretty sloppy on the map, too.
