Another nice 5K
I had a good time early this morning running Thon’s hill route again. This is a 3 miler that starts and ends in Pease Park, and contains about 250 feet of climbing (honest, not counting every pothole). It remains a seriously challenging run for me (at least if I didn’t want to drop my speed way down on the hills), which is a good thing. Right now I’m staying on pace until the biggest hill at mile two, and I’m going to do this course a couple of times a week to see how I’m progressing. Besides, its a great workout. My goal is to be able to power the hills without slowing down or needing more than 15 seconds recovery, and do the whole thing easily at a 9:00 pace while chatting.
If these go well, I may start running the BagelFest course once a week to see how I’m doing. No decision has been made yet as to whether or not I’ll run it - I can always sign up the day before if I want to. As much as I want to push myself, I also don’t need to do anything stupid. Yet.
